Clapham Osteopathy and Functional Movement

About Us

Backs Etc. is a friendly family-owned clinic based in the heart of Clapham North. We offer an integrated approach utilising both manual therapy and movement training to find the root cause of your issues, get you out of pain, and back to your everyday activities ASAP. Our approach focuses on keeping you pain-free long-term, rather than just managing symptoms.

What We Do

We believe that the aim of treatment and training is the restoration of optimum function.

What we do

At Backs Etc we offer both hands-on therapy and fitness facilities. Rather than just treating symptoms, we want to get you out of pain with both manual therapy and movement training to find the root cause of your issues. Typically we start with hands-on treatment as the first step to getting you out of pain, followed by restoration of proper function via movement and fitness training. We believe that the aim of treatment and training is the restoration of optimum function.

Many people go to medical doctors to find solutions for musculoskeletal pain. They are often given painkillers or muscle relaxants that merely mask the symptoms. This approach does not address the underlying problem, which is usually not a medical problem, but a functional problem, and therefore it needs a functional solution to restore the balance of the body.

Some of the issues we treat include, but are not limited to:

  • Muscle spasms
  • Acute/chronic neck pain and related headaches
  • Acute/chronic low back pain
  • Hip, knee, ankle and foot pain, including osteoarthritis
  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand problems
  • Sports injuries
  • Sciatica
  • Pregnancy, pelvic and lower back pain
  • Post-surgery rehabilitation
  • Postural issues
  • Nutritional coaching
  • Flexibility and mobility
  • Strength
  • Muscular endurance
  • Fitness MOT
  • Weight loss
  • Athletic performance
  • Injury mitigation
